He subsequently served as Director at Tetra Tech, a global engineering and consulting firm, where he successfully led major initiatives including electricity market reform, the integration of the Ukrainian and Moldovan power systems with ENTSO-E, and the development of renewable energy support mechanisms. He also contributed to projects aimed at strengthening electricity markets and establishing regulatory frameworks across Central Asia, particularly in Uzbekistan.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Kölmek has delivered postgraduate-level courses on electricity market development. He has actively contributed to the work of the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) and the International Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER), providing training and capacity-building programs in various countries on electricity market reform, energy transition, renewable energy development, and grid flexibility.
